SLL announces the Young Lighter of the Year 2014 shortlist

The Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) is pleased to announce the Young Lighter of the Year 2014 shortlist. The Awards, now in their 20th year, provide a unique platform for young lighters aged under 30 to prepare a paper on a lighting subject and develop their presentation skills in a challenging and high profile environment.

The Award is a chance to develop presentation skills in a challenging and high profile environment

The shortlisted candidates, who submitted abstracts and video presentations, will write a 3,000 word paper on a lighting topic of their choice, with selected finalists chosen to present at the LuxLive exhibition. The best presentation, as judged by a panel of industry experts, will win the prestigious Young Lighter of the Year Award, presented at the Lux Awards at ExCel, London on 20th November 2014.

Last year’s winner, Rachael Nicholls AMSLL, was awarded her prize in front of the Lux Awards Dinner attendees at the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel for her presentation, ‘Task Lighting at the Hospital Bed’.
