Energy Performance Certificate / Low Carbon Consultant Design Training
2 Day EPC Course and LCC Design course
The APEL rules have changed with effect from 1 October 2008. These changes may affect your ability to be admitted to the CIBSE Certification Energy Assessors scheme so please read this carefully. All applicants must be able to demonstrate that they can fulfil 100% of the National Occupational Standard (NOS) before they can become a registered energy assessor. Some elements can be complied with by taking appropriate training but for others you must have that knowledge/experience before applying to become an energy assessor.
These elements of the NOS which top-up training is not allowed are marked in versions of the various NOS available on the CIBSE Certification website. Those NOS elements where previous experience is not a requirement and can be addressed by top-up training are also indicated.
If you do not already have appropriate knowledge/skills you will not be permitted to make an APEL application. However you may still become an energy assessor through the qualification route.
Before completing a full application, please ensure that you have a minimum of two years experience in the last five in building services and energy assessment type work.
By completing this pre-APEL-form your eligibility to progress through the APEL application route will be confirmed but not guaranteed. You may wish to avoid incurring costs before being confirmed as eligible for the APEL application route.
If you need help to identify whether or not you are likely to be admitted under the APEL route please call the CIBSE Certification team on 020 8675 5211.
