About Us

The 100 Hours of Carbon Clean Up is a campaign run by CIBSE and it aims to raise awareness of actions orgnisations can take to reduce the carbon emissions of their buildings and significantly reduce the cost of their energy bills.

The campaign will run between 3 September and 16 October 2009. Sign up is free as are all the associated events and tools that we will provide to assist you in your carbon saving mission.

2009 activities

We have asked the experts to design and select activities that are low cost, practical, relevant and easy to implement. This year we will guide you to cut your organisation's energy bill down to compete with raising energy prices and we will make sure your organisation complies with recent legislation which requires energy certificates to be produced for commercial and public sector buildings.

And as if that is not enough we will also give you access to:

  • practical guidance to reduce your cost of preparing for EPCs and DECs, the commercial building energy certificates required by law
  • checklists of immediate and longer-term activities to cut energy bills
  • access to free seminars and online learning modules that qualify as CPD
  • an extensive list of low cost or no cost ideas and carbon saving activities to suit all
  • eco-freebies for your staff as you go along
  • invitations to fun activities that support and motivate your low carbon champions and staff to contribute to carbon reduction activities

To find out more about specific activities go to the carbon reduction activities page.
