CIBSE YEN NW Ken Dale winner's presentation - Renewable Energy in Africa
Arup Offices, 8th Floor, 79 Oxford Road, Manchester M1 6EL, 6pm March 20th
The Ken Dale Travel Bursary offers young building services engineers the opportunity to experience technical, economic, environmental, social and political conditions in another country and to examine how these factors impact the practice of building services engineering. The bursary makes awards available of between £1,500 and £4,000 to CIBSE members in the developmental stage of their careers and offers the chance to travel and research areas connected with the applicant's field of work and which will benefit CIBSE, their employer, their clients and the professions within the building services engineering industry. Entry for the 2014 competition is open until April 18th with details on the CIBSE website.
2013 Ken Dale winner Kayley Lockhead, Mechanical Engineer at NG Bailey, joins us to talk about her entry into the competition and the findings from her trip to Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania to conduct research onto Renewable Energy in Africa.
We would encourage anyone who is considering submitting a proposal for the bursary to attend, along with all who have an interest in building services outside our workplaces.
These events are open to all - there is no age limit, you do not have to be a member of CIBSE and we encourage both young engineers and those who develop them to attend. Feel free to also invite your colleagues who may not have received details. These events can contribute towards your CPD requirement.
Free to attend and light refreshments will be provided.
Please contact email@example.com ASAP to book your place. We look forward to seeing you there.
