The aim of the Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE) is to provide a higher profile and focus for public health engineers within CIBSE...more background
Over the past 12 months, we have seen the consequence of when adequate water systems are not available from the lack of provision in developing countries to the effect of natural and man-made disasters. Public health and plumbing design and installation engineers play a vital role in delivering healthy, safe and sustainable water and sanitation services which are essential for life. Public Toilets suitable for all - e-petition
At present Local Authorities do not have to provide Public Toilets. Many Councils are closing the few facilities that do exist as a convenient way to save money. There is a move to get this issue raised in parliament, which is supported by the Society of Public Health Engineers. There is an e-petition set up for this purpose, calling for parliament to legislate to make the provision of Public Toilets by local authorities compulsory. To sign the petition go to http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/15258. You may want to forward the link to family, friends and colleagues.
