Continuing Professional Development for Members

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a long term commitment. It refers to the ‘systematic maintenance, improvement and broadening of knowledge and skills'. It is about learning and putting into practice new competences year after year, and investing in your future.

As a member of CIBSE you are required by the Code of Professional Conduct to maintain your professional competence. The Institution provides clear guidance and support for professional development, enabling you to develop in your career. Further information on CPD can be found using the 'Related CPD links' in the right hand menu on this page and the CPD Guide for members below.

Update your CPD via the new CIBSE CPD website

CPD is also about planning, capturing and evaluating learning and, as your career develops, about assisting the professional development of others.  Go to the CIBSE CPD website and log-in with your existing member number and password and access our easy to use tool which will also allow you to update and evaluate your CPD activities on a continuing basis as the year progresses.  At the end of each year members will be reminded that their CPD record for the year should be submitted.
