The CIBSE "Design Compass" is a free online tool to assist professionals involved in building design to use and select and incorporate present and future weather/climate related information into a clearly defined framework. The tool is aimed at providing weather related information but also contains links to further information and CIBSE guidances.

The CarbonBuzz is a collaborative project which aims to provide information on energy use in buildings to help designers to close between the gap between forecast and actual CO2 emissions of buildings. The project is funded by the Technology Strategy Board and led by Aedas architects. CIBSE and RIBA are project partners, along with, FCB Studios, AECOM, Davis Langdon, Autodesk, XCO2 and UCL. The project uses the CIBSE energy benchmarks to provide targets for designers, and the website enables the design team to assess the likely operational rating of a design.
