Patrons Chair presents Lydia Bellis with 2016/17 Arkwright Scholarship
CIBSE Patrons Chair David Fitzpatrick has presented this year's Patrons-sponsored Arkwright scholar Lydia Bellis with a certificate to confirm the group's £1500 scholarship.
The Arkwright Scholarships Trust conducted its annual award of prestigious scholarships to future leaders of the engineering profession at ceremonies held in London and Edinburgh. A total of 413 sixth form scholarships were awarded this year.
The Arkwright Engineering Scholarships act as a beacon to the most talented STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) students in UK schools and help to ensure that high potential young people stay engaged in the engineering careers pipeline.
Lydia Bellis attends Wirral Grammar School for Girls and is studying maths, physics and product design. After the presentation Lydia said "I am very proud to have received my scholarship and feel excited as to what the future may hold for me. As I further my studies, I hope the type of Engineering suited to me will become clearer and that I can progress further within this area."
David Fitzpatrick said "We are delighted to be supporting Lydia in this way and wish her every success with her studies over the next year."
