Lighting for Building Performance Award
Have you delivered a lighting system or innovative lighting design that has improved building performance and saved energy and carbon? If so, we want to hear from you.
SLL are now accepting entries for the Lighting for Building Performance category at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2018. This Award provides entrants with the opportunity to illustrate knowledge and innovation in lighting projects, prioneering new methods and delivering above standard solutions, for clients and stakeholders alike.
Judges will be looking for projects in which a lighting system meets design ambition and functional requirements, as well as adding dynamic layers to create a well-designed multi-purpose space with adequate levels of illumination and tones. Recognitition is also given to projects realising the importance of including a natural lightscape in the built environment, using energy efficient and carbon neutral methodologies.
Previously won by Atelier Ten for WWF Living Planet Centre in Woking, Sainsbury's Supermarket's Project Graphite LED lighting programme, and Cundall Light4 for their Birmingham office fit-out. Past entries have demonstrated a broad understanding of the impact, carefully designed lighting can have on a project, if constructed prudently.
Shortlisted entries will be announced at Build2Perform Live in November (21-22), featured in the CIBSE Journal and SLL Newsletter, and showcased at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards Dinner in London on 6th February 2017.
