Things are getting busy in the planning of the Annual Dinner, and we hope to emulate the success of last year’s 80th Anniversary Dinner. This year we have bucked the trend and gone for an inspirational speaker!

It's going to be a special evening and we hope that you, your colleagues and clients will join us to celebrate another fantastic year. We’ve already got a mix of consultants, suppliers, contractors and academia represented. We have an excellent speaker and special guests from other institutions attending.

More information can be found on our CIBSE Scotland Annual Dinner Flyer. Please feel free to forward, share, tweet and encourage others who might be interested in joining us on the night.

Agenda:

  • Bar Open: 18:45
  • Dinner: 19:45 - 22:00
  • Carriages: 01:00

Speaker: Colin MacLachlan

Colin is a former SAS soldier best known for appearing in Channel 4’s "SAS: Who Dares Wins" and Channel 5’s "Secrets of the SAS". Having been involved in some of the most high profile and daring SAS missions in recent times. Only a handful of people have been involved in hostage negotiations, hostage rescue and been a hostage themselves... Colin is one of them!

Raffle Prizes:
As many of you will know, CIBSE Scotland has consistently been one of the largest contributors to the CIBSE Benevolent Fund* for many years through your contributions at the Dinner raffle. If your company would like to donate a special raffle prize this year please send details to scotland@cibse.org as soon as possible. To make the evening and the raffle a little special we would like you to consider interesting and innovative raffle prizes! Based on the prize value or it being special/unusual, as determined by the committee, will gain the relevant sponsors’ logos beside their prize donation on the raffle prize sheet!  So get thinking and hopefully we can beat the fantastic amount of £2,370 raised for the Benevolent Fund last year.

See you in November!

*Every year, the CIBSE Benevolent Fund is able to provide help to CIBSE members, former members and their dependants who are in need, whether through sickness, bereavement or financial hardship. Present and former members of CIBSE, IHVE and IES, and their dependants, are eligible for help. Examples of help provided by the fund include: A member suffered from a severe illness, preventing him from working and leading to an accumulation of debts. The Fund enabled him to get back on an even keel financially. Following successful treatment, he is now back at work; A member died young, leaving a widow with two teen-age children to bring up. There was no pension. The Fund supported the family until the children left home; more than 30 years later, the Fund is still assisting the member's widow; A member was struck down by a debilitating disease. The Fund has assisted in adaptation to the home and the provision of equipment to enable him to work from home.
For more information on the Benevolent Fund or if you or someone you know may need assistance please see www.cibse.org/CIBSE-Benevolent-Fund
