CIBSE Membership Marketing Manager

The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) is looking for an experienced, energetic and enthusiastic Membership Marketing Manager to attract, retain and engage members in the work of the charity.
 
The ideal candidate will be creative, proactive and passionate about delivering impactful marketing campaigns, delivering excellent results that meet or exceed targets.
 
You will develop and implement campaigns that position CIBSE and Institution membership as vital for those entering and working in the building services industry and associated industries. You will promote CIBSE's ongoing relevancy to existing members by planning and executing an annual communication cycle, engaging members, encouraging volunteering and maximising member retention. You will also drive member engagement and the perceived and received value of membership.
 
Your specific responsibilities include:

  1. Plan and execute a full mix of marketing and communications to acquire and retain CIBSE members and meet agreed membership targets and KPIs.
  2. Develop an annual membership marketing strategy.
  3. Plan, develop and implement a yearly cycle of creative marketing campaigns to maximise member recruitment, upgrades and retention.
  4. Ensure an imaginative presence for membership recruitment at key exhibitions and external events.
  5. Monitor and evaluate marketing activity, reporting on results and feeding into marketing strategy and development.
  6. Provide creative marketing support to CIBSE Regions, Networks, Special Interest Groups and Societies.
  7. Use data and informed targeting to drive value and revenue.
  8. Monitor and refine membership retention strategies.
  9. Create a wide variety of communications, including material for the website, blogs, social channels, press and emails, which support and feed into the membership marketing strategy.

The ideal candidate will have. 

Essential experience:

  • Professional marketing qualification (CIM) or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum two years experience in membership marketing management.

  • Ability to create and execute a membership marketing strategy.

  • Experience in managing membership marketing retention and acquisition campaigns.

  • Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience working with internal and external designers, stakeholders and partners.

  • Ability to create relationships with our audiences and communities.

  • Excellent project, campaign and time management skills.

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and targets.

  • Creative thinker and contributor.

  • Ability to use databases and analytics to refine and target audiences, channels and messages.

  • Strong initiative and ability to self-motivate.

  • Experience running successful SMS campaigns.

  • CRM experience.

  • Good working knowledge of CMS.

  • Good working knowledge of email marketing platforms.

  • Experience with paid and organic social media campaigns (e.g. Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram).

Desired experience:

  • Experience in using audience analytics and audience research to drive strategy and tactics.

  • Understanding of professional registration or chartership journeys.

  • Influencing and presenting skills.

  • Working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and HTML.

  • Salesforce CRM.

  • Umbraco CMS.

  • Pardot email marketing platform.

  • Canva experience.
