Melanie Finch
Project Engineer

Melanie’s early career has demonstrated her interest in developing herself within the building services industry. At university this took the form of a cadetship at NDY, along with advising on the redesign of the HVAC Professional Elective assessment structure at UNSW and Presidency of the UNSW Mechanical Engineering Society. Moving into her role as an NDY Graduate this year, Melanie has delivered a range of mechanical design projects in the asset performance and existing buildings space. She has also continued her engagement with the wider industry and engineering community through joining the CIBSE YEN committee and mentorship of student engineers.

Amanda Lam
Graduate Engineer

Amanda studied a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) at RMIT University. During her studies, she completed her internship with Honeywell and was involved in the RMIT Sustainable Urban Precincts Project and the mobilisation phase of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre. Upon graduation, she transitioned into a graduate role in Honeywell TAM (Total Asset Management) and since then, has been actively involved in championing Legionella Management across the TAM portfolio. She has also been involved in the deployment of Outcome Based Service (Honeywell’s predictive maintenance/analytics offering) across the VIC/SA/TAS portfolio and the promotion of BIM in FM.

Sihui Wang
Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Sihui (Silver) joined Arup's Sydney building team in 2016 as a graduate mechanical engineer having gained a MSc in Building Service and Sustainable Design from the University of Sydney.

During her studies she was awarded the CIBSE NSW Student of the Year 2015, and the David Rowe Memorial Prize for her academic excellence in 2016.

She has a great interest in complex MEP design and is currently involved in a variety of projects including arts, education, data centre, science and healthcare. Sihui is actively involved in the CIBSE Young Engineers Network as the public relations manager for the NSW region.

Brian Fung
Sustainability Engineer

Brian is a Sustainability Consultant at Northrop Consulting Engineers who is passionate about reducing the environmental impact of the built environment. He engages a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to delivering sustainability outcomes by drawing from his experience working with both existing building operations and new building design. His interests lie in bringing technologically innovative solutions to enhance services optimisation and occupant satisfaction to create high quality places.

David Mahony
Graduate Sustainability Consultant

David is an engineer who takes great pride in providing technical analysis to improve buildings and 
assets, and in maintaining transparent and effective communication with clients. He has a passion for projects in the areas of sustainability, carbon and climate change adaptation, and is trained in modelling climate projections and carbon intensity. He works with both building design and infrastructure teams to improve building sustainability performance and to reduce construction and operational emissions.
David is active in the building services and sustainability community, regularly attending seminars and networking opportunities to engage with his peers and further his knowledge in his chosen field.

Baoying Tong
Graduate Engineer

Baoying is an electrical engineer with AECOM in Sydney. He received two bachelor degrees in electrical engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China and the University of Sydney (First Class honours) in 2015.
He has presented and published papers in LED technology at the North America and Australia/New Zealand branches of the Illuminating Engineering Society. He has been working extensively on government, commercial, education and data centre projects. Outside of work he has been volunteering at schools to promote STEM education and participating on the NSW YEN committee. In 2017 he was awarded as a finalist for CIBSE ASHRAE Graduate of the Year Award.
