Key sectors of the building services industry are represented within CIBSE by professional bodies that offer professional recognition to their members and support the science, art and practice of their field.

Institute of Local Exhaust Ventilation Engineers (ILEVE)

ILEVEThe Institute of Local Exhaust Ventilation Engineers (ILEVE) exists to recognise competence in the practical application of local exhaust ventilation and to raise awareness of the importance of good air quality and ventilation in workplaces.  ILEVE is supported by the Health and Safety Executive. 

 

Society of Digital Engineering (SDE)

Society of Digital EngineeringThe Society of Digital Engineering (SDE) has been formed to provide a home for those involved in digitising the built environment, either as designers, contractors, manufacturers, clients, facility managers or software vendors.
 

Society of Façade Engineering (SFE)

Society of Facade EngineeringThe Society of Façade Engineering (SFE) was set up to bring people together in a forum to advance knowledge of and practice in façade engineering, promote good practice and ensure that today's increasingly complex building façades meet the many and varying requirements placed on them.

 

Society of Light and Lighting (SLL)

Society of Light and LightingThe Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) acts as the professional body for lighting in the UK. It represents the interests of all those interested in the application of light and welcomes all those who are interested in any aspect of the world of light, lighting, and its applications.
 

Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE)

Society of Public Health EngineersThe Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE) aims to provide a higher profile and focus for public health engineers within CIBSE.  The Society has its own classes of membership independent of those of CIBSE and is able to provide designatory letters to those who are suitably qualified and experienced in public health engineering.
