Towards a market for low emissions industrial products
Closing date: 28 February 2022
Objectives of the consultation
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has issued a call for evidence to help the industrial decarbonisation team with policy to develop and grow the market for low emissions industrial products. The call is looking to gather evidence from a broad range of both UK and international manufacturers, those who specify or buy industrial products and also seeks input from other experts to enable BEIS to develop proposals for demand-side policies that successfully promote these products. The call is a response to the recently published report: Demand-side policies for industrial decarbonisation: A review of the function and effects of labelling schemes, product standards and procurement policies, which was published in September and summarises the evidence already available on current policies.

What you can do
The call document contains a number of questions about how policy to encourage demand in this sector could be developed. CIBSE welcomes material from members and others working in the sector to inform a response to the call, which closes in late February. Please send contributions to [email protected] no later than 14th February for inclusion in the CIBSE response.
