The Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE) aims to provide a higher profile and focus for public health engineers within CIBSE.
The Society has its own classes of membership independent of those of CIBSE and is able to provide designatory letters to those who are suitably qualified and experienced in public health engineering. The Society members will, if they are not already members of CIBSE, be admitted as affiliate members of CIBSE which will ensure that members receive the monthly CIBSE Journal and other CIBSE membership benefits and discounts.
A society charge of £10-£30 over and above the lowest cost membership enables us to fund a greater level of activity and there is also a membership class for companies - SoPHE Industrial Associates - who wish to be involved with the Society's work. The designatory letters for Society members will be benchmarked for experience, City and Guilds, ONC/HNC, B Eng etc. For information on joining the Society please click here.
The Society brochure contains more information about membership and the benefits.

Technical events - calling all industry colleagues, manufacturers and industrial associates.
Have you been involved with a project incorporating some elements of new and cutting edge engineering solutions, going above and beyond current design practices and challenging industry rules of thumb? Are you developing a design and want to open up any interesting and innovative solutions to a technical debate and gain feedback?
If yes, then we would like to hear from you and invite you to share some elements of interest at forum events with your peers as part of the SoPHE technical events.
Technical events organised by SoPHE aim to contribute to professional development and often to stimulate technical debate among society members and other professionals in the Building Services sector. Each year and nearly each month we organise technical events covering various subjects including water, drainage, energy, sustainability and updates on new legislation.
