Prof Tim Dwyer CEng FIMechE FCIBSE FASHRAE
Tim is visiting professor of Building Services Systems at the Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering, UCL. He is Chair of the CIBSE Technical Symposium, Technical Editor for the CIBSE Journal and an educational and technical consultant.

Dr Abdullahi Ahmed is a Chartered Engineer and the Course Director for the BEng. Building Services Engineering course at Coventry University. Abdullahi’s interest is in building/system performance modelling and management within the Low Impact Building Research Centre. He manages research projects in building performance evaluation, low-energy retrofit and building information modelling.
Gavin is an Associate at Hoare Lea Consulting Engineers, specialising in MEP Healthcare design for the last 17 years.
Dublin Institute of Technology
Paul is Engineering Director of Colt International Ltd. He sits on the CIBSE Natural Ventilation Group and BSRIA Publications Panel and has previously been (honorary) Senior Research Fellow at the Low Energy Architecture Research Unit. Paul has a degree in Industrial Design from Brunel University.
Alex is an Associate Professor or Architecture at Heriot-Watt University.
Charlotte is an Electrical Engineer at Cundall and is a member of the CIBSE Young Engineers Committee for London.
Alex is a Senior Lecturer at London South Bank University.
Simon is an Associate Professor in Building Physics at Leeds University.
Mike Smith CEng HonFCIBSE
Board Director of BSRIA since 1999, Mike is responsible for all engineering activities (including troubleshooting, IT & telecommunications) as well as for all Compliance activities such as air tightness testing, ventilation systems and acoustic testing requirements for Building Regulations (England and Wales) and Building Standards in Scotland.
Phil is a Chartered Engineer and Associate at Hoare Lea. He has worked across the South West, throughout London and abroad involved in various sectors including workplace, residential, retail, heritage, healthcare and leisure. He also mentors students at university and supports schools via the STEM network.
Phil is Managing Director of BSE3d.
Nyree Hughes - CIBSE Technical Networks Manager
Nyree is the staff manager for the Technical Symposium. She also oversees the activities of the Special Interest Groups, The Society of Façade Engineering, The Society of Public Health Engineers, The Institute of Local Exhaust Ventilation Engineers and the Young Engineers Network.
Dr Hywel Davies - CIBSE Technical Director
Hywel is responsible for technical input to CIBSE Knowledge Portal & Publications, co-ordination between CIBSE Groups and Societies, development of CIBSE input to policy consultations from government and the devolved administrations in Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
