Closing Date Applications
The next closing date deadline is 1 August 2020.
If you’re planning to apply for any level of CIBSE membership, please do not post your application in. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the CIBSE office is closed and emailed copies will suffice. Please email your application to firstname.lastname@example.org.
There are two closing date deadlines a year, they fall on the 1st February and the 1st August (unless stated otherwise).
Who should be submitting at this time?
Only UK applicants applying for Associate (ACIBSE), Member (MCIBSE), new Fellows (FCIBSE) or Engineering Council Registration Only should submit their application by one of the above deadlines.
All overseas and other UK applicants can apply at any time throughout the year.
What should be included in your application?

What to submit and how?
Along with your application form you will need to submit the following:
- A copy of your CV/work experience listing in chronological order
- Your Engineering Practice Report (EPR) referring to all 17 competence criteria (23 competence for MCIBSE IEng) and no shorter or longer than 4000-5000 words
- An Organisation Chart clearly indicating your position within your current organisation
- A Development Action Plan (DAP) identifying your short, medium and long term goals

Please do not send a hard copy version through the post.
What fees should be included?
All applicants should pay the 2020 fees. If successful, your 2020 subscription and registration fees (where applicable) will be debited, activating your new membership grade.
If you are an applicant transferring from another grade of membership you are exempt the application fee for that grade. To view all fees associated with applying please see our Closing Date Prices.
Ensure the full amount is clearly authorised on the form alongside payment details, including the 16 digit card number, expiry date and security code (last 3 digits on reverse of card). If paying by an alternative method please call the membership team on +44 (0)020 8772 3655 to discuss your options further.
Why the full amount?
We ask for the full amount to be authorised, to ensure your application is processed as quickly as possible. Payments will be taken as required and in line with the schedule below.
