Speaker's Profile

Paddy Conaghan graduated as a building environmental engineer from Bath University in 1973 and worked since in two firms of consulting engineers. He was a senior partner at Hoare Lea for 20 years – a period of 5-fold organic growth and peer recognition. Always a practicing engineer, he worked on many projects, while heading the Firm’s London Office and its R & D and sustainability missions. He stepped down from partnership in 2010 to follow broader interests in the built environment agenda. He now chairs the CIBSE BIM Group, is a member of the Edge Committee, the 2014 REF Built Environment panel and CIBSE Journal panel. He is a visiting fellow at LSBU, an occasional commentator and conference speaker.
