Speaker's Profile

Steve Roberts is the Electrical Technical Manager for Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd, and holds the Electrical Duty of Care for the business, supporting both installations and Facilities Management. Steve is responsible for ensuring compliance in all electrical installations for retail stores, distribution centres and central office functions. As Sainsbury’s has 1200 stores across the UK and account for 1% of the UK electrical load, Steve works closely with all District Network Operators. Most recently this has involved deployment of sustainable and renewable technologies, Photovoltaic, CHP etc. Steve has worked in the Electrical Installation industry and Facilities Management for the past 37 years – the last 8 years working directly and indirectly for Sainsbury’s.
