This paper summarises the sources of heat on the Underground and the typical system temperatures. These data sources are useful to understand the potential for heat recovery. Examples of potential methods of heat recovery are given and case studies analysed to understand the case for recovering the heat in conjunction with heat pumps. It is intended that this material will allow interested parties to understand the opportunity for heat recovery either for projects that they may be involved with, or for future building upgrades.
