Building Simulation Award 2012
Winner of the First Building Simulation Group Student Prize for 2012
The CIBSE Building Simulation Group is pleased to announce the winner of the 2012 prize for the best research project at Master’s degree level or equivalent which includes a major element on the development or application of building simulation tools. This prize, which was open to students from all UK and overseas universities, was the first to be awarded by the Group. This year’s prize was specifically in the area of “Validity of Building Performance Simulation” and some 25 applications have been received.
The prize for 2012 has been awarded to Yair Schwartz from the University College London. The title of the winning dissertation is “Variations in results of different building energy simulation tools and their impact on BREEAM and LEED ratings: A case study”. Congratulations to Yair Schwartz for conducting an excellent piece of research and deservedly winning this year’s prize of £1,000 with a certificate recognizing his achievement.
