NCC 2019 Regulation Impact Statements open for public consultation

The consultation period for changes proposed in the National Construction Code (NCC) 2019 is now open and the ABCB is seeking your feedback.

With the recent release of the NCC 2019 Public Comment Draft stakeholders will be aware that a number of significant changes have been included. These changes have required assessment to determine the likely costs and benefits of their impact through Regulation Impact Analysis. The Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) is seeking your feedback on the four Consultation Regulation Impact Statements (RIS) listed below:

  • Accessible adult change facilities in public buildings

  • Fire safety in Class 2 and Class 3 residential buildings

  • Heating and cooling load limits for residential buildings

  • Energy efficiency in commercial buildings*

Consultation RIS' can be downloaded from the ABCB Resource Library.

*Note: The Consultation RIS for energy efficiency in commercial buildings will be available shortly, and will be open for comment for a period of six weeks from its release date. Keep an eye on our Latest updates for news of its release.

Providing comment

Response sheets are available for each Consultation RIS and can be downloaded from the ABCB Resource Library. Feedback on the RIS' currently available can be made by responding to the questions provided in the relevant response sheet by COB Friday, 13 April 2018.

Additional support material
