Regulation 7 Guidance

The SFE have jointly produced guidance on facades with the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology.

In November 2018 changes to the Building Regulations banned the use of combustible material in the external walls of certain high-rise buildings in England. This has prompted many questions about how such walls and facades may now be constructed. The Society of Façade Engineering has collaborated with the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology to produce guidance on the current regulations, which is now available from the CWCT website.

The guidance is based on the best knowledge available at the time of publication.  Due to the continuing development of policy and government guidance this document should be read in conjunction with the relevant current government guidance on ‘the ban on combustible materials’.
