Masoud received his M.Sc. Power Electronics Engineering Master’s degree from Loughborough University, England in 1982. He is the Managing Director and Founder of Magellan Power, a Western Australian Power Electronics Manufacturing company founded in 1991. Masoud is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years’ experience and regularly speaks at events ranging from the Energy Storage Expo in Sydney, to International Conferences, and local Australian engineering events (such as IEEE).
Magellan Power is one of the only remaining designers and manufacturers of back-up power equipment in Australia, and it is right here in Perth. Magellan Power specialises in customised back-up power equipment for some of Australia’s biggest projects including Optus Stadium, BP Kwinana, Crown Towers and Fiona Stanley Hospital.
For the past decade Masoud and his Research and Development team at Magellan have been working on innovative Australian made energy storage systems and Masoud will briefly canvass the past work done by Magellan Power, and also offer insights and learnings from his vast experience and expertise using power electronics in Renewable Energy.
During his presentation to CIBSE, Masoud will detail some of the most reliable back-up power equipment manufactured by Magellan Power, and the designs which make them some of the most rugged and long-lasting systems in the country including the cutting-edge Cloud Camera which is used as a solar smoothing device.
