Bowen Hills

CPD Hours

The CIBSE QLD Committee is excited to announce our third event for the year, a site tour of 25 King street.

About 25 King street

This new premium grade landmark building, designed by Bates Smart Architects, embraces innovation and high technology to set new standards in environmentally and socially sustainable workplace solutions.

25 King is currently the tallest and largest engineered-timber office building in Australia. The 9-storey plus ground superstructure utilises a combination of revolutionary engineered Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) and glulam (glue laminated timber). The glulam is used for the structural beams and columns, and the CLT for the floors, lift shafts and escape stairs.

Aurecon designed the building services and collaborated with Lendlease’s DesignMake, a design and manufacturing business for timber solutions for the structural design. As part of this process, DesignMake drew on its experience developing other engineered timber buildings such as International House Sydney at Barangaroo.

A 6 Star Design and As Built V1.1 Green Star rating and a 5-star NABERS Energy Base Building rating are currently being targeted.
