SLL Young Lighter 2021 Finals

The Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) are pleased to announce that the finals of the SLL Young Lighter 2021 will be taking place online on 16 December 2021.

Following the initial entry stage, the expert judges confirmed a shortlist of Young Lighter entrants to go through to the next stage of the competition. The shortlisted entrants were then asked to develop their entry and submit a short piece to camera, outlining their project.

Following stage two of the competition, the judges have confirmed the following four finalists for the SLL Young Lighter 2021:

- Maria Englezou - Do we need to change the design of healthcare facilities rooms?

- María Teresa Aguilar Carrasco - Lighting optimisation in 24 hours work centres to promote a good circadian rhythm

- Remedios María López Lovillo - Adaptive lighting control system - User-oriented

- Verity Rose - Drone Lighting: The impact and the future

Each of the finalists will deliver a 15-minute presentation, outlining their entry.

The finals will be hosted by SLL President-elect, Andrew Bissell FSLL. We will also be joined by a keynote speaker.

Following the finalists' presentations, we will confirm the 2021 SLL Young Lighter of the Year. Along with a trophy, they will receive a cash prize of £1000. All of the finalists also receive a cash prize and a year's free membership of the SLL.
