Now running for over 25 years, the CIBSE Young Engineer Awards look to celebrate the best new talent in the building services industry, as well as recognise employers who go above and beyond in their commitment to nurturing the next generation of engineers.
This year, Ideal Heating Commercial and ACV UK are sponsoring the awards, which feature three categories: Graduate of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, and Employer of the Year.
As previous sponsors of these awards and recent sponsors of CIBSE’s regional Young Engineers Network event in London, Ideal recognises the importance of acknowledging and rewarding the innovation, skills, and tenacity of those involved.
We also believe in giving young engineers a chance to showcase themselves to employers in the industry, and in November we will be exhibiting at CIBSE’s Build2Perform Live, which offers attendees the chance to meet and interact with industry experts and speakers.
Both ACV and Ideal Heating run CIBSE-accredited continuing professional development (CPD) courses, so we understand how important it is for those in the building industry to broaden their knowledge and skill set. This is particularly true for young talent who have always been of the utmost importance within our sector. The engineers joining the workforce now will play a vital role in the transition to net zero, and their knowledge of renewable and net-zero technology will benefit not only them, but also us as a society.
We also understand the important role that businesses can play in nurturing talent and congratulate those shortlisted for the Employer of the Year Award. This is open to any organisation that pro-actively champions young people in the building services sector, through commitment in the workplace or by supporting those employees through education.
