CIBSE YEN London - Eco-design Requirements for Non-residential Ventilation Units
CPD, Grub & Pub – Eco-design Requirements for Non-residential Ventilation Units
Sponsored by Trox
21st June 2017 – Valiant House, 4-10 Heneage Lane, London
On one of the hottest days in years young engineers braved the heat to the attend the CPD kindly hosted and delivered by Trox at their London office. The informative CPD by Iskender Gencer, Business Development Manager for AHUs, was well received.
The CPD focused on the Commission Regulation (EU) No 1253/2014. He began by explaining what types of ventilation units the regulation applies too and what is excluded.
Two sets of efficiency requirements are given within the regulation, one which started on the 1st January 2016 and one which starts next year on the 1st January 2018. Iksender highlighted the changes between the 2016 and 2018 requirements before showing us the implications these changes would have on the footprint and energy consumption.
The presentation ended with his conclusions and recommendations. For example, are frost coils really needed if frost protection can be provided via “thermal by-pass” which the ERP required for compliance.
