Introduction
The Young Engineers Network (YEN) is a network of regional centres that aim to provide a forum and support network for young engineers.
CIBSE YEN regional officers are elected to act as representatives of the institution’s young membership and help promote the art, since and practice of building services engineering.
We hope, with the encouragement and support from the wider CIBSE membership, we can more successfully increase fellowship and unity amongst those who have already chosen to work in our industry, and encourage more from outside to investigate the many appealing aspects of building services engineering.
The CIBSE Young Engineers Network’s Mission is to:
- Provide a forum and support network for young engineers within CIBSE
- Provide a platform for new thinking, novel approaches to design, exchange knowledge, experiences and discuss ideas
- Ensure that young engineers engage more closely with our professional institution at an early stage in their careers and support them through their career development and attainment of professional registration
- Encourage a diverse membership
- Establish a link with the CIBSE council
- Promote building services engineering to schools, colleges and university students
- Guide young engineers towards a long term career in building services
- Build relationships with the engineers of the future industry.
