Technical Report Route (TRR)
The Technical Report Route is for those who are an Associate or Member of CIBSE but do not hold the required academic qualification for the relevant registration with the Engineering Council (UK).
The purpose of the Technical Report is to show that you have gained the same level of engineering knowledge and understanding of engineering fundamentals as someone who has the academic qualifications. For Registration at:
IEng level you are required to demonstrate that you have reached a level of knowledge and understanding equivalent to a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng (Hons)).
CEng level you are required to demonstrate that you have reached a level of knowledge and understanding equivalent to a Master of Engineering (MEng).
To register onto the Technical Report Route, you must complete and return the Application which will include your sponsor details and report synopsis for approval.

This will usually include a written explanation, diagrams and calculations which should demonstrate your understanding of the fundamental engineering principles. Please read guidance below and submit with a cover sheet attached.
