Society of Light and Lighting (SLL)

The Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) welcomes all who are interested in any aspect of light, lighting, and its applications.

With over 3300 members globally, the Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) is recognised as an authority on lighting and welcomes all who are interested in any aspect of the world of light, lighting, and its design or application. Lighting designers, consulting engineers, researchers, students, academics, manufacturers, sales staff and many more all contribute to and are members of the SLL.

The SLL recognises the expertise of the lighting community in tackling the challenges which face us all, considering the climate emergency, global political uncertainty, rapid technological change, significant societal shifts, and skills shortages.

SLL is a learned Society and promotes education and knowledge transfer in a variety of ways, including seminars and webinars, and an events programme that runs all year round. As part of this there are a number of publications and guidance notes available for free (pdf) or at reduced cost to our members as part of their CIBSE membership.

If you would like to contact SLL regarding membership, publications, events, or you are interested in the opportunity of joining one of the SLL committees please email SLL
