About the Role You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of commercial catering equipment, ensuring all gas appliances are operating safely and efficiently. This role involves working on a variety of sites including restaurants, hotels, and large-scale commercial kitchens. Key Responsibilities Service, maintenance, and repair of commercial gas catering equipment Fault finding and diagnostics on a range of appliances Carrying out gas safety inspections and certifications Ensuring all work complies with current gas safety regulations Attending reactive call-outs and planned maintenance visits Working independently and as part of a wider engineering team Requirements Valid Commercial Gas Safe qualifications (e.g. COMCAT 1, 2, 3, 5 ) Proven experience working on commercial catering equipment Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Full UK driving licence Good communication and customer-facing skills Ability to work under pressure and manage workload efficiently What We Offer £50/55k basic salary Van & Fuel Card No call out 28 holidays Overtime rates 40 hour contract Ongoing training and development Opportunity to work on high-profile projects

Your new company One of Northern Ireland's largest public sector authorities located in Co. Armagh is seeking an experienced Building Services professional to oversee estates compliance on an interim basis for approximately nine months. This is a key assignment for a compliance professional who can quickly take ownership of statutory estates obligations such as Fire Safety, Electrical & Gas Safety and Energy Efficiency and ensure the estate remains safe, legally compliant, and audit‑ready. Your new role This role will be on an initial interim contract for c.9 months, with the potential to extend or present a permanent job opportunity, reporting to the Estates Maintenance Manager. You will act as the organisation's technical lead for statutory compliance across a diverse estate, covering Legionella management, Asbestos control, Fixed Wire Testing, Fire Safety, Gas Safety, LOLER, PUWER, and wider planned preventative maintenance. The role requires someone confident stepping into a busy environment, stabilising compliance processes, and providing assurance to senior stakeholders. Key responsibilities: Oversee all statutory estates compliance activities, ensuring full alignment with current legislation and best practice. Manage programmes for Legionella monitoring, Asbestos surveys and management plans, Fixed Wire Testing, PAT testing, Fire Risk Assessments, Gas Safety inspections, and other mandatory checks. Maintain accurate compliance records, certificates, and audit trails, ensuring documentation is complete and accessible. Manage and monitor external contractors, ensuring high‑quality delivery and value for money. Review and strengthen policies, procedures, and safe systems of work. Provide expert advice to operational teams and senior leaders on compliance risks and mitigation. Lead internal audits, produce clear reports, and drive corrective actions. What you'll need to succeed To be eligible for this position, you must have: A third level qualification (i.e. HNC/HND, Level 4, Degree) in a relevant discipline/subject such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Building Services. Knowledge of statutory estates' compliance. Experience leading compliance programmes and managing external contractors. It would be beneficial but not essential to have relevant qualifications such as IOSH/NEBOSH, BOHS P402, or Legionella Responsible Person training.
