Electrical Estates Engineer

Your new company Hays have a temporary job opportunity for an Electrical Building Services Engineer to work with a large public sector organisation based at a Greater Belfast facility. This organisation have a large estate spanning several acres with a range of buildings varying in ages requiring a wide variety of engineering and building fabric maintenance services. Your new role As an Electrical Estates Officer, you will be responsible for the management of electrical elements of estates operations relating to the development and maintenance of the built environment, engineering services and physical assets. The successful person will be responsible for: Electrical aspects of all Building Services throughout the estate; Ensuring that these essential services are maintained to the required standards to perform effectively and efficiently; Design, survey, manage and maintain electrical power generation and transmission; supply and distribution of LV, circuits and earthing, motors, drives, controls, lighting systems and emergency lighting across all buildings and sites; Supervise and report on contracted external maintenance contractors; Create planned maintenance programmes Monitor and report on statutory compliance Action reactive maintenance Undertake the preparation of economic appraisals on all major and minor works projects; Prepare and submit development proposals for review; Assist with the procurement of contractors; Manage external consultants (design teams); What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this position, you should satisfy the following essential criteria: Hold a degree in a Building Services / Electrical Engineering related discipline with 3 years post qualification experience in building services maintenance and/or project work, OR; Possess a BTEC, HNC/HND in a related Building Services / Electrical Engineering discipline with 4 years post qualification experience in the delivery of building services maintenance and/or project work, AND relevant experience in: Managing Engineering services and up-to-date methods of maintenance planning The control and development of maintenance and operational staff or personnel associated with engineering project design and management. Preparing maintenance estimates and engineering reports. Carrying out directly or by contract repair, replacement and renewal of engineering plant and equipment and services. What you'll get in return This position has the potential to extend beyond 9 months and offers the suitable candidate a competitive rate of pay along with the chance to gain experience with a professional estates team. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Weekly BACS payment. Online timesheet approval system. Salary up to £44,500 paid pro rata. Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer

Senior Electrical Engineer - Building Services

Your new role As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will beresponsible for all aspects of design and delivery of electrical services for aportfolio of projects. You will be responsible for; undertaking calculations,production of drawings, producing specifications and reports, conducting sitesurveys, conducting construction stage duties, providing client liaison,consulting with members of design/construction teams and any other relevantduties required to comply with project briefs. Producing and reviewing mechanical design drawingswill be key. Key responsibilities: Production and review of detailed design calculations for all aspects of electrical design. Production of specifications and schedules. Production of design notes, basis of design and RIBA stage reports showing compliance with standards and best practice. Production of design drawings from conception through to detailed design. Conducting detailed site surveys and inspection of installations. Mentoring and guidance of junior to intermediate engineers. What you'll need to succeed Degree in electrical engineering or other relevant subject. Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IET, or working towards chartership. Strong background in Electrical Building Services Engineering Design. Proficient with Trimble/Amtech, Dialux, and/or other electrical design software and familiar with BIM processes using Revit or other recognized industry platforms. Experience in designing from first principles as well as the design of HV. LV. Lighting and lighting controls, Fire Alarms, Security/Access Control, electrical design for renewable energy systems and earthing across a range of projects.
