Project Manager (Mechanical & Electrical)
Your new company Our client own and operate a large commercial site incorporating a range of services open to the general public, including shopping, cafes, bars, restaurants, car parks and a number of transport facilities.This is an exciting time to join this organisation as they embark on a major regeneration and rejuvenation of their facility, which when complete will provide a world class facility for the public and its users. Your new role This is a full-time permanent post based in Antrim where you will join an existing engineering and projects team reporting the Capital Projects Manager and have specific responsibility for the Mechanical & Electrical elements of all capital projects within the wider development program of c.£100m. These projects will include new buildings, fit-outs and refurbishments. Some of the main duties include: Manage design, delivery and commissioning of M&E services within projects Develop plans for scope, schedule, budget and resources Work with tender and pre-construction teams to make sure requirements are met Manage the design, drawings and approvals process in line with programme Make sure projects comply with building regulations and specifications Collaborate with clients, contractors and internal teams to ensure clear communication Monitor progress against targets Support QS with review of changes to contract and valuations of work A full job description is available on request. What you'll need to succeed To be eligible for this role you must meet the following criteria: Minimum of Level 6 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering or relevant disciplineFull current driving licence & own transportCSCS, CSR, SafePass or equivalent construction industry card Minimum 5 years experience: Project or Contracts Manager in large-scale construction projects. The company has been established for over 15 years, covering all aspects of mechanical installations including heating, plumbing, air conditioning, ventilation and BMS systems. Your new role Assisting the estimator by reviewing tender drawings, specifications, and schedules. Suggesting value engineering possibilities to optimise costs and efficiency. Reviewing our tender prior to submission to ensure compliance with client requirements and internal standards. Performing design checks, including calculations for heat losses/gains, pipe sizes, duct sizes, pumps, fans, etc. Continuously suggesting value engineering possibilities to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Updating layouts, schematics, and other design elements as required. Preparing and submitting technical documents and specifications for approval. Assisting Revit/CAD technicians with coordination issues to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems. Supporting Contracts Managers with resolving design-related issues during the construction phase. What you'll need to succeed A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or Architectural Engineering is desirable. Third-level qualifications, such as an HNC, will also be considered. 3+ years of experience working within building services design from either a consultancy or contractor background is essential. Strong MEP Revit/CAD experience. Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
