Head of Facilities Management
Your new company Hays Specialist Recruitment are delighted to be working with the NI Assembly, who are based in Belfast. This organisation's estate includes historic buildings, statues, parks, green spaces, playgrounds and adventure trails. Your new role This is a contract position working full-time hours, for an initial period of c.6 months, based from the client site in East Belfast.As the Head of Facilities Management, you will report to the Director of Corporate Services with the responsibility to: Ensure that Parliament Buildings is maintained in a manner befitting its listed status and in accordance with all relevant building-related legislation; Ensure that catering, cleaning, housekeeping and related services meet the needs of all building users; and Help meet the Assembly Commission's commitment to being an exemplar organisation in all things relating to sustainable development. To do this, you will: Lead on the project management of all building and construction-related works projects. Lead the development and implementation of the plan for routine and preventative maintenance for Parliament Buildings; Deliver reactive maintenance in a timely and effective manner; Manage the establishment and have oversight of all building-related contractual arrangements; Lead on the Assembly Commission's commitment to sustainable development; Have responsibility for statutory compliance with all building-related legislation (including Health and Safety legislation); Provide specialist advice on all the services delivered by the post; Identify the resources needed to deliver all the services required from the post and use those resources in an efficient and effective manner; Lead and manage staff in the delivery of excellent services; Comply with all of the Assembly Commission's staff policies and procedures including Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work policies and procedures; and Manage information and records in accordance with established policies and statutory requirements. What you'll need to succeed To be eligible for this position you must be able to meet the following:A professional qualification in a building-related discipline and at least 3 years' experience in each of the following areas: OR Hold a Level 4 or equivalent in building maintenance, construction, facilities management or project management AND at least 5 years' experience in each of the following areas: Delivering building-related work projects to set deadlines and to set budgets and with due regard to meeting all statutory obligations; Delivering all building maintenance, including developing and implementing a structured Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme; Delivering catering, cleaning, housekeeping and related services for a building or buildings with more than 200 daily users; and Managing the procurement and contract management of all property-related expenditure. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)
Main Purpose of Role: Using sound knowledge of mechanical building services, provide support and line management to the mechanical team to progress multiple projects on all drawing production including schematics and engineering calculations within agreed timescales. Principal Tasks and Responsibilities: Business Operation and Development To have future business development in mind at all times, maintain good relationship with all industry contacts and promoting the business where opportunities arise. Ensure that all projects remain in budget, monitor whether additional fees are appropriate and control team workload to meet the schedules. To actively assist management to maintain an effective business by raising potential threats and suggesting remedies to overcome. Look for potential options for new business and additional fees and clear with line manager for approval. Senior Electrical Design Engineer
