Your new role You will be joining as a graduate electrical building services engineer. You will have a positive can-do attitude, along with the eagerness to learn and develop your technical capabilities, helping to deliver right-first-time solutions for the most challenging problems in the Building Services design industry. You will be given guidance and mentorship from more senior engineers to fulfil your duties. Your responsibilities will include: undertaking calculations producing drawings producing specifications and reports conducting site surveys conducting construction stage duties providing client liaison consulting with members of design/construction teams and any other relevant duties required to comply with project briefs producing and reviewing electrical design drawings will be key. What you'll need to succeed Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering. Basic knowledge of Electrical Building Services Engineering Design. Awareness of Trimble/Amtech, Dialux, and/or other industry standard electrical design software. Awareness of Building services design deliverables - Lighting and lighting controls, Fire Alarms, Security/Access Control, Small Power, earthing, etc, across a range of projects. M&E Asset Surveyor

Purpose of the RoleTo provide high-quality mechanical and electrical surveying services across the property portfolio, ensuring compliance, safety, efficiency, and value for money. This role involves end-to-end project management of M&E works, contributing to asset improvement strategies, and supporting the delivery of capital and planned maintenance programmes. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management: Plan, develop, and manage bespoke mechanical and electrical projects, including heating systems, electrical upgrades, lifts, and renewable technologies. Consider long-term maintenance needs and collaborate with other departments to provide commercial solutions for underperforming assets. Stakeholder Management: Maintain effective stakeholder engagement through planning, communication, and progress updates. Work collaboratively with colleagues in asset management, housing operations, finance, and external stakeholders to ensure cohesive project delivery. Surveys and Project Appraisal: Conduct and support high-quality dilapidation and diagnostic surveys across residential and commercial properties. Provide detailed project appraisals and technical advice on condition and investment requirements. Validate investment needs and ensure alignment with the Asset Management Strategy. Investment Planning: Support the investment programme in accordance with regulatory standards. Develop detailed specifications to ensure effective delivery, working with consultants, procurement, compliance, and maintenance teams. Consider whole-life maintenance and innovative solutions. Stay informed on industry regulations, best practices, and emerging technologies. Health and Safety: Ensure health and safety compliance, including adherence to CDM regulations, for all M&E project activities. Provide support and expertise to the wider directorate. Skills and Experience Essential: Strong knowledge of building construction, standards, planning regulations, and leasehold legislation. Commercial awareness and experience in delivering bespoke M&E projects. Familiarity with construction specifications and contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC, IET). Experience leading procurement exercises. Understanding of project financial evaluation, performance assessment, and budget management. Experience with system commissioning, handover, and integration to compliance standards. Knowledge of CDM regulations and experience as a Principal Designer. Ability to work independently, with strong organisational skills. Proven experience managing internal and external stakeholder relationships. Desirable: Previous experience managing similar projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Knowledge of LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998). Understanding of gas, fuel, and electrical safety compliance standards. Qualifications Essential: HNC/HND or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or a related M&E discipline. Desirable: Degree or recognised management qualification. Evidence of continued professional development. IOSH Managing Safely certification. Additional Requirements A full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle. Willingness to work flexibly and travel across sites as required. Mobile work is a requirement of the role. Willingness to undertake additional duties, including those related to health and safety and compliance, as reasonably required. Static Commercial Gas Engineer (Install)

My client are an Essex based Building Services Company who have been operating for over 20 years.    They now employ over 30 staff (with a team of 8 plumbers) and turnover £7mil a year.  They are now seeking a Commercial Gas Installation Engineer to join their team. Working on Static Commercial Site in London (3 - 4 month projects). Duties Install commercial pipework systems including heating, chilled, hot/cold water, and gas systems. Installation of plant and equipment such as boilers, pumps, water heaters, unvented cylinders, pressurisation units, chillers, AHUs, dosing pots etc. Undertake pipefitting using a variety of materials (carbon steel, copper, stainless steel, plastic) and methods (press-fit, threaded, welded, etc.). Plan and execute pipework routes on-site in accordance with design drawings and project plans. Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to meet installation deadlines and milestones. Interpret mechanical layout drawings, schematic diagrams, and technical specifications. Adhere strictly to Health & Safety regulations, company RAMS, and site-specific requirements. Ensure all works are completed to a high standard, with attention to neatness, alignment, and support systems. Maintain daily records of work completed and report any variations or potential issues affecting progress. Reporting to the office/supervisory team as appropriate. Requirements: Proven experience in commercial/industrial pipefitting and mechanical installation of plant rooms. Strong knowledge of heating and hot/cold water systems in commercial settings. Ability to interpret drawings and plan installation routes effectively. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating, Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline. Experience working to project programmes and collaborating with site teams and supporting contractors. Full UK Driving Licence (clean or minimal points). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach on-site. Static Pipefitter/Mechanical Engineer

My client are an Essex based Building Services Company who have been operating for over 20 years.    They now employ over 30 staff (with a team of 8 plumbers) and turnover £7mil a year.    Due to a significant amount of work starting in the New Year, they are seeking a Commercial Pipefitter to join their team and work on Commercial Fit Out Projects in London.   THE JOB – COMMERCIAL PIPEFITTER / MECHANICAL ENGINEER   Monday - Friday / 8am - 4pm (30 min paid lunch)   You in Central London working across their portfolio of Commercial Fit Out Projects. You will generally be based on each project for 3 - 4 months.   Your duties will include: FCU Installation &  Repair Mechanical Plant Pipe work covering galv, iron, steel, copper, plastic, composite etc., to include mapres or similar systems. Working knowledge of pumps, pressure and expansion vessels, DMZ valves, basic mechanical maintenance of plate exchangers, strainers, side stream filtration systems Ability to fault find on building related heating, hot and cold water distribution problems. Works may involve emergency repairs, breaking out of walls and floors to access pipe work. Commercial pipe fitting Commercial isolation Fitting/ Installation of commercial pipework.
