Their Building Services team require an Electrical Engineer to take responsibility for the electrical services and the overall coordination of all services of a wide variety of projects. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary design team for several clients covering a range of activities from project feasibility through to detailed design and construction support. This exciting role will involve leading teams working on demanding large-scale projects both in the UK and potentially overseas. Working closely with clients, architects and other members of the professional team you will take an active role in establishing the brief, leading the design and developing potential solutions in order to assist in delivering high quality projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. Experience and Qualifications required An electrical engineering degree. Proven track record of delivering projects within set time frames. Experience of software’s including Amtech and Dialux/Relux. Experience of designing to British standards. Strong communication skills. Proven team player. Qualities required Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales are met. Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions. Take responsibility for personal development. Senior Estimator
My client are a Building Services & Specialist Contractor who have been established in 2003 who have 8 Offices throughout the UK. As a business, they employ 300+ Staff Nationally and are expected to Turnover £55Mil+ this year. Working within the Commercial & Public Sectors, their sites are generally within London, Surrey, Kent & Sussex. The London Office is currently 15 strong, made up of 3 Admins along with Contract Managers & Project Managers. Due to growth of business, they are now seeking a Senior Estimator to join their London office. THE JOB – SENIOR ESTIMATOR (FABRIC WORKS) Monday – Friday / 8am - 4pm You will producing tenders in Construction and Fabric Projects up to a value of £3,000,000. Core Duties Tendering & Cost Estimation Prepare detailed cost estimates for building fabric works (e.g., roofing, masonry, carpentry, plastering, painting, flooring, partitions, ceilings). Assess drawings, specifications, and site surveys to determine material, labor, and equipment needs. Develop Bills of Quantities (BoQ) or schedules of rates. Produce cost plans, budgets, and value-engineered options. Bid Management Review invitations to tender (ITTs), RFQs, and PQQs to ensure compliance. Prepare and submit competitive tender proposals. Liaise with supply chain partners for quotations and rates. Identify commercial risks and mitigation measures within bids. Technical & Commercial Analysis Carry out site inspections and feasibility studies. Evaluate subcontractor bids and supplier quotations for accuracy and compliance. Ensure all costs reflect current market conditions, building codes, and best practices. Support cost modelling for reactive and planned maintenance projects. Collaboration & Liaison Work closely with project managers, contracts managers, surveyors, and procurement teams. Provide pre- and post-contract support, including clarification of estimates. Engage with clients and consultants to explain cost breakdowns. Risk & Compliance Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving strategies. Ensure estimates comply with health & safety regulations, sustainability goals, and statutory requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, building regulations, and industry standards. Leadership & Mentoring Guide junior estimators and assist in their professional development. Establish best practices in estimating, cost tracking, and bid submissions. Lead estimating efforts for high-value or complex fabric service projects.
