Electrical Project Manager
Your new company Our client is a multidisciplined building services engineering practice that provides a strategic and innovative approach to delivering engineering and management consultancy services for its clients. Due to significant growth, this practice is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join their team based in Belfast. Delivering large-scale residential/mixed-use and industrial projects throughout the UK & Ireland, their engineering and management consultancy services are in demand with some of the world's biggest brands. Your new role You will take ownership of electrical and mechanical project delivery across major schemes in the Institutional Residential and Industrial sectors in the UK. Travel will be required once a month for site visits - all trips are same-day with no overnight stays. Key Responsibilities Lead electrical and mechanical project delivery from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with design, quality, and client requirements. Prepare and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans. Communicate directly with clients, project teams, and outsourced delivery partners. Develop and maintain strong client relationships. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution. Oversee technical reviews, risk management, and quality assurance processes. Monitor financial performance, WIP management, and reporting on project progress. What you'll need to succeed Electrical trades qualification and/or Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services. Proven experience (4+ years) in electrical project management or contracts management within the building services industry. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex projects. Comfortable in a client-facing role with strong communication and negotiation skills. Experience in project planning, financial management, and resource allocation. Familiarity with major digital engineering tools (CAD/Revit, Amtech) and BIM environments. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. As a Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the Electrical design solutions for a range of building services projects, from initial concept through to final delivery. You will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to the success of our exciting and challenging projects, while working with a dynamic and innovative team that makes a positive impact on the built environment. Responsibilities: Lead the electrical design on complex and large-scale projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and industrial. Manage the delivery of electrical design solutions in accordance with British Standards and relevant codes of practice. Produce detailed electrical designs and specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with performance requirements and energy efficiency standards. Undertake detailed calculations and simulations to validate the electrical design solutions. Attend site visits and meetings with clients, architects, and contractors. Work collaboratively with other engineers and design team members to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met. Mentor junior engineers to ensure their development and provide technical guidance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging electrical design technologies and practices. Requirements: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 6 years' UK experience in electrical design engineering within the building services industry. ideally Chartered Engineer status. Knowledge and experience of British Standards and relevant codes of practice. Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit. Experience in using electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux, or equivalent. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to lead and manage a team. Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
