Energy Modeller - Building Services Engineer

Steensen Varming Steensen Varming are looking for an Energy Modeller, to join our Sydney based Building Services team, to undertake simulation modelling to predict thermal and energy building performance. This role provides the best of both worlds working in a global company, within a local studio- based, supportive, established team. Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will lead energy efficient design, develop our procedures, research, and inspire. We are looking for someone who is passionate, appreciates the detail and is pragmatic in their approach. The successful candidate will; Undertake and have experience running IES and IES HVAC simulation based energy modelling to predict building performance. Support key design decisions, through modelling assessment, by predicting air movement, thermal performance, control of moisture, ambient energy, climate, comfort and light. Be experienced in analysing the results of simulation models. Be able to inform design decisions at each design stage through predictive parametric modelling, maximising opportunities for comfort and sustainability and minimising building design risks related to energy usage and carbon output. Be able to work independently and as part of the wider team, seek options to continual improve our approach and process, and be motivated to self-learn and engage both as part of a team and your own initiative. Applications are invited from creative, proactive professionals, with experience in the following: A Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or a closely related subject Experience (minimum 3-6 years) in Building Services Engineering, Building Physics, Energy or Thermal Modelling, and a passion to make a difference in the industry Strong knowledge and application of IES and IES HVAC for system design, refinement, and Green Star, BREEAM or equivalent compliance modelling. Knowledge of, or a strong interest to continue our team’s expansion into new and emerging software including but not limited to Ladybug, Pollination, and Better Building tools etc. An interest in sustainable design practices and desire to foster real client relationships. Relocation This role is suitable for candidates looking to relocate to Australia, and who hold existing UK or Australian work rights. This role includes the opportunity to start in our London studio and undertake 3-6 months of training with our European team, for any candidates requiring employer visa sponsorship for Australia. Hybrid working, in the London studio may be considered. The successful candidate may be required to undertake occasional travel to our Copenhagen Studio for training during the initial 3-6 months of employment in London. My client are a leading Ductwork & Ventilation Contractor who are based in North London.  They specialise in Commercial & Industrial Projects which include Commercial Offices, Manufacturing, Shopping Centres, Train Stations, MOD and more.  Projects up to a value of £1.5mil. But generally, fall around £600k.  Due to growth, they are seeking an Estimator who has come from a Ductwork or Ventilation background to join the team.  THE ROLE - Estimator (Ductwork/Ventilation)  Hours:  Monday - Friday / 8am - 5pm  Software:  Ensign You will be working as the sole Estimator in the business, based out of their North London Office.  Job Summary The Ductwork / Ventilation Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for HVAC ductwork and ventilation systems on commercial projects. This role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, pricing materials and labour, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting the project management and sales teams through the bidding process. Electrical Engineer

Your new company We are currently supporting a South West Local Authority seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee a portfolio of electrical works across their housing stock. This is a fantastic opportunity for a contractor with strong public‑sector or social housing experience who can confidently manage compliance, contractors and quality across a busy repair and planned works programme. Your new role As the Electrical Engineer, you will act as the client's technical lead for all electrical works within the housing portfolio.
