Your new role You'll work closely with senior engineers and associates, taking responsibility for the electrical design of building services systems from concept through to delivery. Typical responsibilities include: Electrical building services design including power, lighting, small power, fire alarm, data and security systems Producing calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports Working collaboratively with mechanical engineers, architects and external consultants Attending project and client meetings as required Supporting junior engineers and contributing to internal knowledge sharing Ensuring designs comply with current UK standards, regulations and best practice Project sectors You'll gain exposure to a genuinely impressive portfolio of work, including: Healthcare - hospitals, clinics and specialist care facilities Commercial - offices, mixed‑use developments and CAT A / B fit‑outs Residential - high‑end apartments and large‑scale residential schemes Projects range from technically complex refurbishments to large new‑build developments, providing excellent all‑round experience. Reading, understanding and updating electrical schematics and documentation. What you'll need to succeed Essential: Time‑served Electrician with City & Guilds or SVQ Level 3 (Electrical). Experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment post‑qualification. Basic understanding of ventilation, pneumatic, hydraulic and steam service systems. Strong electrical fault‑finding ability with a logical approach to problem solving. Knowledge of electrical control systems and electrical drive systems. Proactive attitude towards maintenance, reliability and equipment improvement. Competent using Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams. Desirable: Experience with Siemens PLC logic, programming, fault diagnosis and repair. Experience working with industrial robotics. Understanding of plant safety systems and interlocking. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification. Experience with Siemens or Beckhoff PLCs (training can be provided).
