MEP Revit Technician

A well-established Building Services Consultancy is seeking an experienced MEP Revit Technician to support its growing workload on a contract basis. The business delivers Mechanical and Electrical design solutions across a wide range of sectors including education, residential, science and research, industrial, commercial and infrastructure projects. Due to an increasing project pipeline, they are looking to appoint a skilled Revit professional who can quickly integrate into the team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality BIM models and coordinated design information. The Opportunity This contract position would suit an experienced MEP Revit Technician who enjoys working on technically diverse projects within a collaborative consultancy environment. Working closely with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating detailed BIM models from concept design through to construction stages, ensuring projects are delivered to programme and in accordance with BIM standards. Main Duties Produce and maintain detailed Revit models and technical drawings for Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health services Develop layouts for HVAC systems, electrical installations, pipework, containment and plant areas Work closely with design engineers to convert technical designs into coordinated BIM models Carry out multidisciplinary coordination and clash detection exercises Support BIM standards, procedures and project delivery requirements Review models and drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance Participate in coordination meetings and design reviews Collaborate with internal and external project teams to ensure successful project delivery Requirements Previous experience as an MEP Revit Technician within a Building Services Consultancy or Contractor environment Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD Experience producing coordinated building services models across multiple sectors Good understanding of Mechanical and Electrical building services systems Knowledge of BIM workflows and collaborative project delivery Ability to manage workload effectively and meet project deadlines Strong communication skills and attention to detail Available to start within a reasonable timeframe

Participate in development of project schedule, scope, budget staffing planning and construction planning. Including but not limited to: Reviewing Contractor’s design proposals Technical Submittals Working / Installation drawings Equipment manufacturers shop drawings Experience of undertaking site inspections of electrical services installations for compliance with the design / Specification materials and workmanship and Statutory Requirements. Demonstrate a knowledge of the design of resilient MV/LV electrical distribution systems to provide concurrently maintainable and fault tolerant systems. Competent in the design of LV distribution systems with a working knowledge of BS7671 and IEC 60364 and in the use of Trimble Electrical Designer 2D. Competent to undertake internal lighting designs and in the use of DIALux. Competent in the use of Revit to produce 2D SLDs and 3D models. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, collaboration, time management and problem-solving skills. Critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving team environment. Preferred: Experience of electrical design on projects in Finland, Germany, Iceland or Italy. Knowledge of MV/LV power system analysis and competent in the use of Etap.
