Principal Mechanical Design Engineer
Your new company We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the commercial decarbonisation and offsite energy solutions sector. With operations spanning the UK, Ireland, and Europe, they are well established in designing and delivering innovative low‑carbon and prefabricated mechanical and energy systems. Their Birmingham (Solihull) office is home to a growing multidisciplinary design function, responsible for creating coordinated, build‑ready solutions that support the transition towards sustainable, low‑carbon technologies. Your new role As the new Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take a senior position within the Design Team, leading mechanical design output across a variety of commercial decarbonisation projects. What you'll need to succeed 2-4 years' experience within a UK building services consultancy. Strong understanding of electrical building services design (LV distribution, small power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, containment, etc.). Competent using industry design tools (Amtech, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD/Revit). A passion for sustainable and low‑carbon engineering solutions. Excellent communication skills and confidence working with design teams and clients. Progressing toward IEng or CEng (desirable). Electrical Supervisor
Your New Company Hays Building Services are pleased to be assisting a Tier 1 contractor in the recruitment of an Electrical Supervisor to join their team in Bicester. Your New Role You will be involved in the installation and inspection of a range of electrical systems such as PV systems and distribution, lighting, fire alarms, CCTV and security systems, manage subcontractors on site, as well as inspection of installed works with completion and sign off of quality inspection records. You will ensure subcontractors have completed point of work risk assessments, method statements, risk assessments, quality inspection and test plans, report site safety observations as well as support the wider MEP team. Senior structural Engineer (hybrid) Are you looking for a senior structural engineering role that doesn’t include hands on design? You will play a key role in assessing and advising on the structural condition of existing buildings. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team including fire engineers, building surveyors and architects, you will investigate structural defects, analyse building performance and provide clear engineering recommendations.
