Requirements: Degree qualified in Building Services or Electrical Engineering. 4+ years' experience in a similar role. Experience of working for an engineering consultancy or design & build contractor. Able to use AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and either ElectricalOM or Trimble ProDesign (ie, Amtech). Mechanical & Electrical Trades Supervisor
Your new company Hays have a temporary job opportunity for a Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Supervisor to work with a public sector organisation based at their facility in Lisburn. This organisation has a large estate spanning several acres with a range of buildings varying in ages requiring a wide variety of engineering and building fabric maintenance services. Your new role This is a temporary position anticipated to last for 6-9 months based in Lisburn.Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the direct labour team of Plumbers, Fitters and Electricians. As the M&E Supervisor, you will have responsibility for the management of specific elements of estate buildings and engineering maintenance teams throughout a section of the organisation's estate.Some of the key duties include: To supervise and manage directly employed Plumbers, Fitters and Electrical trade staff and external contractors on maintenance and servicing duties on mechanical and electrical works, and promoting innovative solutions for continually recurring problems. To allocate the best resources available, including external sub-contractors and directly employed staff on various emergency and infrastructure works, in all facilities across the estate and check for completeness and quality of work. To assist directly employed labour, external sub-contractors and Estates Officers to investigate and identify problems with complicated plant and equipment and recommend the most suitable repair solution. What you'll need to succeed To be eligible for this post you must meet the following criteria: A BTEC HND/C or equivalent in a building/construction or other related subject together with a minimum of 3 years' relevant post apprenticeship experience. OR A degree in a relevant Engineering related subject plus 2 years' relevant experience. Your experience will ideally have covered: Managing mechanical engineering plant and up-to-date methods of mechanical maintenance planning; preparing maintenance estimates and engineering reports and carrying out directly or by contract, repair, replacement and renewal of mechanical engineering plant equipment and services. Hold a full current driving licence valid for use in the UK and have access to a car. What you'll get in return This position offers full-time hours 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, based from a modern office working alongside a highly experienced and professional team of engineers and surveyors. Up to £44,900 pro rata on a PAYE basis. The rate of pay will depend on experience and qualifications. Annual leave entitlement of 27 days and 10 public holidays. You will be paid weekly via BACS transfer every Friday morning.
