Associate Electrical Design Engineer

Your new role: As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will provide technical and leadership direction across a range of electrical building services projects. You will act as electrical lead, overseeing design delivery from concept through to completion, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high technical standards are maintained. The role involves working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to project planning, resourcing, and commercial considerations, and supporting the continued growth of the electrical team. What you'll need to succeed: 10+ years' experience in electrical building services design within the UK consultancy market. Proven experience leading project teams, mentoring engineers, and taking responsibility for technical delivery. A high level of technical competence across electrical building services systems, with the ability to provide design leadership and oversight. Experience acting as the technical lead on medium to large, complex projects from concept through to completion. Confidence working directly with clients, attending meetings, providing technical advice, and building long‑term relationships. A strong understanding of commercial drivers, including fees, resourcing, programme, and risk management. The ability to review, coordinate, and sign off electrical designs and reports produced by others. Experience working closely with multi‑disciplinary design teams, both internally and externally. Chartered status (CEng) or actively working towards Chartership, with clear progress demonstrated. A proactive attitude and ambition to progress towards Principal level, contributing to the wider growth of the business.
