Senior Mechanical Engineer - Building Services

Your new company A respected Building Services Engineering Consultancy based in County Antrim is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This firm delivers services across a wide range of sectors, including Education, Residential, Commercial, Retail, and Healthcare with a strong focus on sustainability. Your new role This role supports the Directors in project delivery. The successful candidate will oversee design activities aligned with project milestones and contribute to staff development and interoffice collaboration. Lead and manage multiple technical design packages, ensuring high performance and appropriate technical responses. Take full technical responsibility for mechanical building services outputs. Maintain strong client relationships and manage key accounts. Provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to the Building Services team. Drive effective project implementation and lead technical planning processes. What you'll need to succeed The ideal candidate should be currently operating at a strong intermediate or senior level with proven ability to manage resources and maintain technical excellence. Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services discipline. Practical experience in a similar role, with working knowledge of UK Building Regulations. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including Part L and CIBSE comfort criteria across various building types. Capable of producing detailed design packages for: HVAC systems Public health installations Fire engineering systems Building management systems Chartered status or working towards it is preferred. Familiarity with design software, including IES and REVIT/BIM is advantageous (training available). Proven experience in performance specification, detailed design, contract administration, and site supervision. Broad building services engineering knowledge with a strong technical foundation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of UK and relevant EU regulations, standards, and design guidance. Excellent organisational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
