As a Mechanical Associate, you'll step into a senior leadership role, working across a diverse range of projects in the Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Residential, and Warehousing sectors. One day you might be conducting a dilapidation survey on a CAT B office; the next, leading a Stage 3 design for a major warehouse or managing a team on a complex, multi-disciplinary scheme. Building Performance Engineer
Building Physics Consultant - To £50K + Package Finish work each day feeling great that you've helped tackle the climate emergency and that you're doing your bit, to help save our planet for future generations. This specialist Sustainability Consultancy offers a turn-key integrated solution to their clients. They cover everything from Passivhaus studies, Dynamic Thermal Modelling, BREEAM and LEED, HVAC Design, Thermal Bridging studies, Airtight testing, Energy statements to Project Management and can even specify and supply a range of renewable energy technologies to use on projects. Rather than just designing a project, they plan, manage and oversee the construction or refurbishment process and also provide POE's and measurement and verification of energy savings. This is a hybird role; with a suggestion that you attend the office twice a week. You'll be responsible for helping their clients achieve low energy and low-cost buildings while improving occupant comfort and overall health and well-being. Key tasks Building Physics modelling (Daylight, overheating studies, dynamic thermal modelling etc) of new build and complex refurbishment projects. Partnering with architects and helping bring their ideas and visions to life. Undertaking R&D inro new or emerging technologies. Using IES, PHPP, SAP, Excel or Grasshopper to model and predict a buildings energy use. Championing low energy building design. Assisting with whole life costing analysis or whole life carbon analysis. Implementing Passivhaus standards for all new projects. Mechanical Small Works Manager
Your new company We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable company located in Leicester, seeking a Mechanical Small Works Manager. This company specialises in delivering small-value mechanical projects, ranging from £5k to £250k, including planned refurbishments, maintenance upgrades, reactive works, and minor installations. Your new role As the Mechanical Small Works Manager, you will be responsible for: Managing and delivering multiple mechanical projects from inception to completion. Coordinating with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Preparing scopes, quotations, schedules, and method statements. Monitoring project progress, budgets, and resource allocation. Ensuring all works comply with health & safety and regulatory standards. Providing technical support and resolving site issues. Building and maintaining strong client relationships. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you should have: Proven experience in mechanical contracting, ideally in a similar small works/project manager role. Strong technical knowledge across HVAC, plumbing, and general building services. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects at once. Commercial awareness and ability to quote works confidently. Preferred qualifications: SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, or relevant H&S qualifications.
