Electrical Design Engineer (Building Consultancy) London to £50,000 + Package Talent Motion specialise in transitioning experienced M&E Design Engineers from traditional M&E design consultancy into client-side Building Consultancy. You will design across all RIBA design stages 1-7 ranging from feasibility studies to full detailed design, working across a broad range of sectors within the private and public fields. With a 20 strong M&E team the business traditionally focused on all aspects of M&E Surveying but over recent years they have invested growth into their M&E Design and Project Management offering. As a global Building Consultancy, the main differential from the traditional design consultancies is that they have access to their own client base and do not have to competitively tender for projects, resulting in a less pressurised environment and providing the financial resources to recruit into the M&E team when needed rather than expecting employees to shoulder more pressure and work excessive hours. Essentially, a client-side role that will give you direct access to clients, working on the client’s behalf as part of the client team as the client’s representative. Electrical Supervisor

Your New Company Hays Building Services are pleased to be assisting a Tier 1 contractor in the recruitment of an Electrical Supervisor to join their team in Bicester. Your New Role You will be involved in the installation and inspection of a range of electrical systems such as PV systems and distribution, lighting, fire alarms, CCTV and security systems, manage subcontractors on site as well as inspection of installed works with completion and sign off of quality inspection records. Site manager

Your new company You'll be joining a leading national contractor with a strong track record of delivering secure public sector projects across the UK. Known for their professionalism and collaborative approach, they are currently delivering a short-term mechanical upgrade scheme on a live government site in South Gloucestershire. The project involves heating system improvements and asbestos removal, requiring careful coordination and compliance with strict site protocols. Your new role As Site Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the works, ensuring health and safety standards are upheld and that the programme is delivered on time and within budget. You'll manage subcontractors, liaise with the client and site security teams, and ensure all documentation and permits are in place.Key responsibilities include: Managing radiator replacement works and associated mechanical upgrades Overseeing licenced asbestos removal in designated areas Ensuring compliance with secure site procedures and able to achieve BPSS clearance Coordinating trades and maintaining site records Reporting progress to the Project Manager and client representatives This is a daytime role with no night shifts, running for approximately 12-14 weeks from early January 2026. What you'll need to succeed You'll need previous experience working on secure government sites - ideally within the justice sector - and be confident managing short-term refurbishment or M&E packages. A valid Black or Gold CSCS card, SMSTS, First Aid, and Asbestos Awareness certification are essential. Design Manager

Your new company You'll be joining a nationally recognised Tier 1 main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex public sector schemes across the UK. Known for their collaborative approach and commitment to innovation, they are currently delivering a major refurbishment and new build programme on a secure government site in Wiltshire. The project forms part of a wider framework agreement and is set to run for approximately two years. Your new role As Design Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading the design process from preconstruction through to delivery. Working closely with the Architects and Project Manager on the project, you'll manage consultant and subcontractor design teams, coordinate technical reviews, and ensure timely delivery of design information for procurement and construction. The scheme includes new build elements using precast concrete structures, extensive MEP installation, and fire safety upgrades to existing buildings - all within a secure perimeter.
