Senior Mechanical Engineer

Role: This role requires a specialist pharmaceutical/life sciences Senior Mechanical Engineer, to spearhead energy efficiency projects and be the go-to person for design advice and lead projects. As the industry experiences greater regulations on the manufacturing process, the team are seeking an individual to bring experience on how to deliver and manage technical projects to support the growth of the business. The main responsibilities in this role will be to be ensure high quality delivery of energy-focused global pharmaceutical and life sciences HVAC engineering solutions, while also guiding others to ensure that design deliverables meet consistent standards and best practice. There will not be any direct line management responsibility for this role. The person in this role will act as a subject matter expert guiding the engineering team on process, quality and technical delivery. They also work closely with the senior leadership and sales teams growing the business and leading on consultative technical discussions with both new and existing client Responsibilities: Technical Leadership & Delivery (80% of the role): Most of the time will be working in the capacity of a consultant both externally and internally, influencing design and recommendations, representing best practice and promoting technical excellence in HVAC design and build within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry and within the team. Understanding client needs, formulating innovative solutions, and presenting technical information logically and compellingly. Sharing demonstrable knowledge (such as recent used/test cases) both on build and design on a regular basis with the team. Developing bespoke solutions and innovative designs to meet client needs aligning with cutting-edge technical approaches. Facilitating & providing technical expertise on Energy Kaizen Leadership and HVAC systems. Reporting on engineering KPIs by reviewing the data collection phases and quality of the technical work. Applying expertise in engineering complex GMP compliant HVAC systems for building services. Leading stakeholder discussions with clients on the technical delivery and progress. Working on client site to facilitate projects (both nationally and internationally). Working closely with the Engineering Manager to develop the technical expertise. Responsible for adoption of technical best practice and adoption by the engineering team to maintain consistency and quality of deliverables Supporting the Business's ISO 9001 status for consistent quality delivery. Business Operations (10% of the role): Working closely and collaborating with the senior leadership team, operations team, and sales team to ensure effective operations to support current and future client engagements, by helping to develop project resources. Participating in weekly engineering team management meetings and taking responsibility for delivering agreed actions and reporting. Supporting business risk management through identification and mitigation activities. Assisting in a culture of innovation and excellence and maintaining global subject matter expert status. Supporting Business Growth (10% of the role): Collaborating with the senior leadership team, and wider teams to implement short and long-term plans, focusing on value propositions. Support of subject matter expert status by maintaining industry leading knowledge related to the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry. Identifying improvement areas across the business Attending conferences on HVAC systems and energy efficiency.

Electrical Engineering Technician

Your new company A leading organisation in the energy sector is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to join their team in the North of Scotland. Your new role As an Electrical EngineeringTechnician, you will be responsible for delivering both reactive andplanned maintenance across a range of operational assets and sitefacilities. While the role is primarily electrically biased, it will alsoinvolve some mechanical tasks. You will play a key role in fault diagnosis,repairs, and supporting site upgrades and improvement projects. You will also be involved inmanaging and updating the Computerised Maintenance Management System(CMMS), ensuring all maintenance activities are accurately recorded andcompleted to a high standard. Keyresponsibilities Perform electrical maintenance, inspections, repairs, and minor installations. Review and update site electrical drawings and documentation. Carry out isolations and fault-finding on electrical systems and support mechanical troubleshooting where possible. Maintain accurate records of all engineering and maintenance activities. Manage electrical tasks within the CMMS, including both in-house and contracted works. Oversee annual electrical inspections, including scope development, contractor selection, and on-site coordination. Support the Engineering Manager with electrical projects, upgrades, and change management processes. Supervise electrical contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company procedures. Contribute to HSE intervention plans related to EC&I as required. What you'll need to succeed Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship. Minimum of 2 years' experience in an industrial environment, ideally within Oil & Gas or process industries. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. CompEx Electrical (Ex01-Ex04) certification. 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (minimum). Membership of a recognised professional body is desirable.
