Your new role As a Graduate Electrical Estimator, you will support the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for office fit-out projects. You'll assist in reviewing drawings and specifications, obtaining supplier quotations, and compiling tender documentation. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience and develop a career in electrical estimating within a dynamic and supportive team. What you'll need to succeed A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field. A strong interest in electrical estimating and commercial office fit-outs. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with estimating software (e.g. Trimble, Amtech) is a plus. Good communication and organisational skills. Having vast experience in a range of sectors, from small retail refurbishments to large-scale multi-million-pound M&E contracts. Your new role Your main purpose ofthe role is the design of electrical engineering for building services. In this role, you willbe: Providing supervision including mentoring/coaching/development and performance management for a small team of Engineers. Planning and executing agreed plans Delivery of complex engineering solutions to agreed time scales and budgets Attend design team meetings, working with the wider client team to deliver projects Provide technical support for discussion with clients and suppliers Provide technical support and guidance for installation and commissioning activities Surveying and reporting on electrical systems in buildings Prepare technical specifications and drawings using industry-standard software Undertaking design calculations Design electrical installations to meet British Standards Developing design proposals at sketch, detailed design and production stages Preparing tender documentation and reports You will need toundertake other duties as may be required to achieve objectives. Your new role As an M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the financial aspects of construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and maintenance work. Your responsibilities will range from initial cost advice to final account settlement. Key tasks include: Supporting Business Unit Directors in achieving business objectives. Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers. Delivering high-quality services and ensuring cost management deliverables meet customer expectations. Managing projects to ensure high-quality services and output in line with business procedures. Preparing and presenting cost estimates and option studies. Conducting cost planning and cost-in-use studies. Advising on and implementing procurement strategies. Settling final accounts. Administering contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent. Producing and presenting reports to customers. Promptly informing Directors of any issues that arise on projects, particularly those impacting professional indemnity insurance. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you should have: Extensive experience in cost management. Practical experience in cost estimating and planning. Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials. Familiarity with construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies. Experience in post-contract cost management tasks. Clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written. A methodical approach to work and strong organisational skills. The ability to adapt quickly to changing environments. Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, financial, and numeracy skills. Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily. An understanding of legislation impacting building contracts. The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
