The Role Under the supervision of the Senior Engineer(s), produce drawings, designs, technical documents and specifications to meet project scope / requirements. Design in accordance with all current industry recognised design guides, British Standards and Building Regulations etc. Work efficiently with the in-house Architectural Design Department and external design teams accordingly. Manage design output to agreed programmes. Instigate, where possible, standard design solutions. Experience/Requirements Minimum accredited degree qualified (i.e. BEng Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc) Significant professional background in Building Services Design Engineering. Suitable experience of new build residential projects, including communal heating and CHP. Good technical and interpersonal skills. Competent in using Revit. Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer 12 month contract To £35 p/h Paid weekly One day a week in the office. Client side role. A local authority in London have asked me to find an Electrical Design Engineer for their inhouse design consultancy offering. Their design team is an in-house, fee-earning multi-disciplinary consultancy service covering a full range of MEP design, architecture and structural services. Their project portfolio is diverse and consists of leisure centres, residential developments, libraries, schools and offices. They offer a lot of flexibility and request that you attend their Head office (Zone 2, Central London) one day a week and they support flexible working times, with an option of starting anytime between 7am to 10am. Ensuring projects comply with Building Regulation and British standards. Checking drawings in AutoCAD. Key requirements Good overall knowledge of electrical design and installation methods. Detailed knowledge of building codes and British standards. Knowledge of JCT contract and local planning preferred. Able to attend site and client meetings across Zone 1 and Zone 2, Central London.

Mechanical Estimator

My client has been providing buildings support to local authorities, social landlords, NHS trusts and private sector clients for over 40 years. Founded in 1979, they have a proven track record of delivering successful mechanical, electrical and security services and solutions to their commercial and domestic clients, with whom they have developed longstanding partnerships. Due to growth, they are seeking a talented and experienced mechanical estimator to join their growing projects department. To work closely with the Bid Team and Contract Managers to provide accurate estimates for mechanical projects, draw up assessments of costs of products and services to provide to clients.   THE JOB – MECHANICAL ESTIMATOR Monday to Friday, between 08:00am – 5:00pm, 1-hour unpaid lunch break   Responsibilities: Compiling Bids for Projects. To be able to understand specification documents, engineering drawings and be able to produce full and accurate take offs from mechanical and electrical drawings.  Mechanical project range £50,000.00 – £5 million. Calculating costs for materials, transport, labour, equipment hire, permits, and other project-related expenses. Obtaining quotes and evaluating proposals for all predicted requirements from subcontractors and suppliers, this will include Electrical and Builders work elements. Collating detailed price lists of everything required on each tender/project. Clarifying the client’s needs and expectations. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, breakdowns, and proposals. Assessing and adhering to all risk assessments and health and safety requirements. Keeping up to date with inflation, and understand potential risks. Analyse potential risks and opportunities associated with the project and incorporate them into the estimate. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to estimates and project costs. Making visits to site to familiarise with the works and fully understand the scope of works and site-specific requirements of works being tendered. Stay up to date on industry standards and regulations Present bids to clients and answering their questions. Monitor the costs at different stages of the project to ensure the project stay within budget Assisting bid writer with specific site information to assist with quality submissions. Preparing and submitting quotations for smaller works up to £1 million for contractor’s design and build style projects with limited information available. Liaise with the client to understand their needs and provide technical advice Desire to want to progress into renewable technologies. Ability to tender for multiple projects at any one time. Ability to produce value engineering solutions. Produce programme of works and site logistic plans at tender stage to demonstrate to clients we understand their requirements and to present our delivery methods.    The ideal Candidate Will be/have Strong Mechanical knowledge is a must have Electrical knowledge would be advantageous Strong mathematical and financial skills. We would like someone with experience in data centers and data center design. Candidates must have: A degree (or equivalent) in the Mechanical Engineering. At least 5 years’ work experience post degree. Some experience with mission critical systems. A qualitative appreciation of other areas of design (i.e. electrical services). A natural interest in and familiarity with all aspects of a project (interior design, space planning, architecture, structure). Succession planning – shape and grow this role with your own development needs, and then actively train others in that role. Chartered engineer (CEng) or professional engineer (PE) status. Proficient (native or near native) level of spoken and written English.
